Marbella
Marbella ies in southern Spain in the province of Malaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia. Located approximately 55 km west of Malaga on the Mediterranean coast, it is the most well-known seaside resort on the Costa del Sol, especially famous for its luxury marina, Puerto Banus. International access is via Malaga’s Pablo Ruiz Picasso international airport. Locally, there are trains to nearby Fuengirola supplemented by a network of bus services.
Marbella’s growth is almost entirely due to the tourist industry. There are some fascinating scenic points of interest in the immediate area and the rich and varied cultural calendar includes anything from museum visits to opera and even a reggae festival!.
This particular interest in culture and artistic development won Marbella the right to host the International Fair of Contemporary Art which has been known as MARB ART since 2005. The event welcomes more than 500 artists from all over the world and represents a whole range of artistic expression, including photography, painting, sculpture and graphic design. Additionally, Marbella organizes two further important festivals every year: the International Art Festival of Marbella and the dance event "Festival Todo Danza". The attractive historical town centre could not be more typical of Andalusia; whitewashed houses, orange trees, flowers and little squares, the perfect place to enjoy the multitude of bars and restaurants and to try one of the tasty local dishes. Marbella is also a paradise for golf lovers with its 17 magnificent courses set in stunning surroundings, embraced by the sea and the mountains.
Against this backdrop it is easy to see how Marbella became a major attraction for all kinds of corporate events, including congresses, conventions and incentive programmes. The city is renowned for quality and offers a range of services and infrastructures designed to support successful events. There is a wide selection of luxury hotels and a congress centre with a 3,112 m2 exhibition hall and a 1,520-seat auditorium as well as other practical and comfortable meeting rooms.
